About Me

My name is Dave Johnson and I moved back to the msea in November 2013. Prior to moving back I pastored a church in Dayton Ohio. The Lord kept telling me He needed me here now so here I am.

I came here to help others as God sees fit however there are many here who seem to hate God and consider me a threat to their existence here and I have become the object of their insanity so to speak.

If you live here and need help, come to Stans. If you don’t live here, that’s fine too. Simply leave a comment and I will reply to your listed email address.

As a few have already discovered I don’t bullie, I don’t run and I don’t do your drama with you. Others have found that I am dependable, trustworthy and will literally give you the shirt off my back if you just ask.

I want to share Gods love with everyone here and I’m not going to beat you over the head with it. I believe in leading by example.

    Hi Dave
My name is Pawel, i am an Australian documentary producer. We are travelling around the USA and looking at the sides to American culture that we don’t get to see in Australia, as everything we know is generally through movies. One of the episodes in this series will be focusing on non conventional communities, and a photographer i met put me in touch with someone on the Mesa who we will be visiting, probably around December, so they can share their story with us.
I’ve been doing a little bit of research on the area and i was wondering if you’d want to share your story with me, or if not perhaps you could point me in the right direction of people who you believe it would be good to talk to. I would like to focus on some of the more positive aspects of living outside the mainstream – to give people back here something to think about. Do you believe there are positive aspects that arise from a community such as that of the mesa?
I would love to hear your thoughts or open a dialogue, even if nothing comes of us speaking. Also, let me know if you’d like to see a past episode of our show to scope us out.
    Thanks Dave
    Pawel

Sure, I don’t mind speaking with you but there are much more interesting and colorful people here who would much better serve your needs than I would. When you have a better idea when you will be here let me know. This is cold country in the winter and some of our residents will winter in California, Hawaii even Mexico. A better time frame will give me an idea who to ask if they would be willing to speak with you.

Hello I’m very interested in what is going on there, society as a whole has me very frustrated and I respect what I have seen and heard about 2 peaks mesa. I would love any information about buying land there, any help in finding a reputable person to deal with would be a great help.

Dave, my son and I are moving out that way in a few weeks. Was wondering about what you posted about squatting till spring action( saw a lot for $1200 ) . any suggestions ie do squatters get harassed by law enforcement or locals? Any info would be helpful . Thanks

No, squatters are not harassed by the law, in fact they don’t even like coming out here. I have 3 lot’s here you can use any one of them. One even has a couple trailers on it.

are there any maps of the subdivision? I see lots for sale but all they have are the legal description. Would love to see where the lots are on some sort a map. Any help is appreciated. still heading out just taking longer than expected.

Unit 1 is closest to the bridge and there is a local who has lot’s there for sale but their price is outrageous. At $2500 per 1/4 acre they are simply to high. I have a lot on the main road in just past the dogleg I’d part with for $800 if you’re interested.

Hey everyone my planes have been delayed but getting ready to start over, quick question how is the hunting out there ie rabbit, parrie dogs, bird? looking to hunt to help with food supply.

Hey Mark, there are plenty of jack and cotton tail as well as parrie dogs but please don’t shoot the pigeons without talking with Stan. Stan has a fair flock of pigeons.

Hey, Dave, thank you for creating this site, and providing so much information. I’m interested in a particular property. Do you have a private email where I can ask you some questions or did I miss it on this site?
    Thanks again.

    Hi Dave,
Hope all is well with you.
I live in Talpa, Ranchos de Taos with my partner Dorothy and am wondering if you know of an ,25 acre lots for sale in Carson Estates, Unit 2 or 3 . . .

Thanks so much and God Bless You . . .

I very rarely hear of anything coming available in 3 Peaks. It is the Hollywood of Carson Estates so to speak as opposed to the ragtag shacks that dominates units 4 & 5. I will ask around for you though. I wouldn’t mind having a little property there myself but I’ll give you first dibs if I find anything though. I have land scattered around but nothing I’m interested in parting with right now.

Hi — how does one learn the exact location of a lot in Tres Piedras Estates? I was recently given a lot, and would like to know where my new property is! Is there some on line resource that will show me, or do I need to look at physical books in the assessor’s office?

Own 4 adjacent quarter acre lots in Ranchos de Taos Estates, Unit 1, Block 29. I was unaware of the title issues until finding your website. Might a quiet title action help? Is Stephens Western Properties, LP implicated in the 1963 land scam? It was my vendor.

    1. Dave Post author

No, Mr Stephens is not an implicated party to the original scam. However, you need not expect a return on the huge investment you made. He claims to have done title searches on the properties he sells and may very well have but I would want to verify it. You did purchase in one of the better units though.

Units 4&5 are overrun with criminals, felons on the run and meth and herion addicts. Most acre lots sell for around $4000 out here unless on or very near a county maintained road then you could add a couple thousand. Ranchos de Taos Estates is the least populated unit but borders units 4&5. Enjoy your property but be careful who you befriend least you fall into a bad situation.

The last year and a half here has seen 3 young women murdered. No, I’ve not mentioned it in the news page because all of them were friends of mine and connected to one woman in unit 5 and that connection is being investigated by the Fed’s because the local District Attorney office will not do it. Local law enforcement is manipulated by the 3 Hispanic gangs that pretty much run the county.
